Snow Blind Map Mod - File Description  


Description:
Dust and Jade's xmas and winter map , mod .

you can run this map in 3 ways .
the map is setup with xmas gifts x5 & the flak_88 as objectives by default .

you can run it with just the flak_88 as a single objective to blow up .
you can run it as x5 gifts to find as the objectives .
you can run it with the flak_88 & the x5 gifts added ! making 6 objectives to do before winning the round .

you can also take out the scrolling billboards .
you can also take out the xmas tree .

all this is done in the maps scr , by commenting out or un-commenting out the set objectives .

thanks for downloading this xmas and winter map , mod .

you can run this map in 3 ways .

DUST AND JADE UK 2007 .

also the map file , so you can edit the map if you want ;) .

the scrolling billboard textures ! with the server message is for you to change too your clan tags and messages ;) .
the xmas board is for xmas time lol , keep backups in the pk3 so you can put the xmas on when needed .
i used the snow bumpy texture and typed on top of that 1 , but you can use any jpg.

just comment out the objective you don't want , this map will also work with freeze-tag ! just add the script to map scr
libmef is in global already for the bomb thinkers !!! do not remove it or the flak_88 objective will not work ! .

2weeks to build the main map .
1day adding 604 models .
2days adding 442 lights and 359 cage-lights .
1day added area portals to all the doors .
3days adding the supports and roof props to tunnels .
1day scripting things in , scripting help from www.mods-r-us.net ;) , flashy script from sfx ric-hard .

38 textures in all , these are common textures too .
3856 brushes .
1163 entities .
net brush count 2636 .

my needs were .

803 cups of coffee .
213 beers .
4,000 joints .
3 arguments with the wife ;( .
38 painkillers .

final compile info .

ambi light set at 10 10 10
farplane 4000

bsp settings = -v -blocksize 0
vis settings = -v
light settings = -verbose -final -bounce 16 -attenuate 1 -radgrid -extragrid

built time will take 55 mins ;) .
these setting were used to get some shadowing off the wall .
some shadowing is still there , but the move i added to lower them ! the more my fps droped .
-bounce 16 should be -bounce 8 .
the rest are just high quality settings .

map name for server cfg is = map obj/snow_blind

have fun lol .

thanks for the good feedback .

i am sorry but .
in the map scr when i cleaned all the unused parts out , i also removed a part that is needed .

under main in the map scr you need to fix this line or add it if its not there .
setcvar "g_gametype" "4"

also in the snow_blind_gift.scr above level.targets_to_destroy .

but after a long and hard time & for my 4th map i have built , its not really bad lol .

if you cannot fix it your self , i will try get a fix version uploaded as soon as possible .

i know im a fool ;( for missing it out .

and this is server side fix only ! clients don't need to fix there map's .
